With more than 40 years’ experience in the industry, Gene leads and inspires his team to provide innovative and sustainable solutions for clients. His expertise lies in executive benefit planning, transferring businesses to the next generation, and protecting estates from inheritance taxes.

Prior to forming LoVasco, Gene was president of Brown & Brown of Detroit, one of Michigan’s leading insurance companies, after joining when his independent agency was acquired in2007. Before entering the insurance industry, Gene practiced public accounting at Arthur Andersen.

Gene sits on the boards of the M Financial and Racquet Up Detroit. He is also actively involved at the Pope Francis Homeless Center. He also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, and biking.

Michael LoVasco

As cofounder of LoVasco Consulting Group, Michael represents the third generation of family in the insurance industry. A steward of the reputation his grandfather, father, and family members have established over the last 60 years, Michael continues to uphold their legacy of integrity and hard work by building lasting relationships that focus on taking care of people.

Prior experience working for Deloitte, in New York City, helped shape some of the Michael’s business philosophies that have become integral to LoVasco’s culture of client services. Michael spends much of his time meeting new people and learning about their businesses.

Michael serves as the Finance Chair on the Ascension St. John Foundation Board, and the President of the Young Leaders Council for Racquet Up Detroit.

Mike Iley

Mike is an influencer. He helps organizations design, build, and maintain the next generation of workplace savings solutions.

At LoVasco, Mike is responsible for thought leadership and the strategic direction of the firm’s Retirement Plan Consulting practice. His prior experience working at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, NEPC Investment Consulting, and Morgan Stanley’s Graystone Consulting Group, provides a unique perspective on the industry. Mike is motivated every day to help the average American worker, who might not otherwise have access to financial guidance, the opportunity to build a meaningful nest egg for retirement by designing innovative retirement plans.

Mike is an avid Cross-Fitter and is active in his church community.

Scott Harris

Scott is a problem solver and connector whose passion is helping his clients realize their greatest success. His naturally inquisitive and analytical nature helps him uncover both issues and opportunities, while his ability to develop deep relationships lays the foundation for serving as a trusted advisor.

Scott worked with middle market companies for 22 years in commercial banking at NDB, Comerica, and KeyBank prior to joining LoVasco. Scott understands the myriad of challenges facing midsized companies, in particular, the importance of building the right team, as people are the engine that ultimately drives success. In his new role, Scott is dedicated to introducing employers and executives to the broad suite of services offered by LoVasco.

Outside of the office, Scott likes spending time with his wife Amy and four adult children. During the summer, Scott’s favorite season, he can be found outdoors enjoying any water related activity, exercising, or cooking.

Chris Schuppe

Chris is responsible for managing the scope, quality, and timeliness of client deliverables. He contributes directly to key business outcomes, such as retention and growth, by tailoring Executive Benefit solutions to the long-term objectives of our clients.

Robust in both sales and management experience, Chris’s advisory background lends itself to successfully developing programs and building lasting relationships.
