Special Going PRO Talent Fund Webinar - Learn How to Access Grant Funding, Other Assistance for Your Workforce Training Needs
Recorded On: 09/19/2022
If you and your business have short-term training and demonstrated talent needs, then the state’s Going PRO Talent Fund and its cash grants may be able to help!
Join the Michigan Chamber and Michigan Works! Association for a special informational webinar on Monday, Sept. 19, from 10 to 11 a.m., to cover key elements of the Going PRO program and answer any questions you may have – all just in time before the next application period opens later this fall.
The fund provides financial awards to employers to assist with and offset costs associated with training, developing, and retaining current and newly hired employees, along with registered apprenticeships. The covered training just must lead to a credential for a skill that is transferable and recognized by industry.
Since the program’s inception in 2014, more than 5,300 awards have been provided to employers throughout Michigan, with more than 90% of funding being granted to small businesses. Last year, nearly $40 million was awarded to 1,075 companies statewide. Due to growing demand and the ongoing talent shortage, a total of $55 million will be available for Michigan job providers to apply for in the new state budget that begins Oct. 1.
Going PRO experts like Teri Sand, business services manager for Capital Area Michigan Works!, will provide a high-level overview of the Talent Fund program and detail the application process for business and community leaders. After the webinar, all attendees will be provided direct contacts and resources in their local communities to take next steps if interested in applying.
This webinar will be recorded and available on-demand shortly after the live webinar.
